The Eye Care Center of Kauai, in Lihue, Hawaii, was founded by Dr. Timothy Lee and Dr. Layne Hashimoto in 2007. The practice is dedicated to serving families in the community, so it welcomes patients of all ages and the staff includes doctors who specialize in the unique eye care needs of everyone from our youngest patients to our respected older patients.
The team at the Eye Care Center of Kauai offer the full range of vision testing and refractive services. Following a complete eye examination, patients can choose from a wide selection of premium eye glasses, sun eye wear, and contact lenses.
For those who engage in sports, the Eye Care Center of Kauai offers sports vision services, as well as expert pterygium surgery to treat surfer’s eye, which can develop in anyone who spends a lot of time enjoying the beaches of Hawaii.
The doctors at the Eye Care Center of Kauai specialize in the medical and surgical management of refractive errors and eye diseases. The team offers expertise in the most advanced procedures, including laser surgery. We look forward to working with our patients for the long term, as we help them manage eye diseases such as cataracts, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, ocular misalignment, and dry eye. The services offered at the Eye Care Center of Kauai are rounded out by a selection of cosmetic procedures, including tattoo removal, Botox and Latisse.

I didn’t have to wait very long after completing the paperwork. My initial exam assistant, I believe her name was Irene, was extremely nice and kept me informed about what she was testing for. It was quite a thorough process which she made easy,I felt very comfortable. I then met with the doctor who will be doing my cataract surgery, again I was well informed as to what to expect. All in all a very positive experience!
